 Computer (ASCII) Calling Instructions
Computer users can access Nordia Relay. Set your communication software to the following protocols:
8 bits
No Parity
1 stop Bit
Full Duplex
You may set up your computer to perform like a TTY—provided it is equipped with the appropriate software and set to the specific variations that allow it to interface with the relay service.

Your computer must be set in full-Duplex for 1200 and 2400 baud.
 Standard Relay Calls made from a Public Pay Phone
All Standard Relay payphone calls will be free of charge (except 900 numbers).
Some public pay phones are equipped with built-in TTYs. Long distance and local toll relay calls may be placed from these phones. Both are free of charge, including those placed by voice callers to TTY users.
 Directory Assistance
Nordia relays Directory Assistance (DA) calls between a TTY user and the Directory Assistance Operator.
 Emergency
In case of emergency, TTY users should call the TTY-equipped 911 center or emergency services center in their community. We recommend that you always obtain the emergency phone numbers for TTY calls in your area. Calls placed directly and immediately to the local TTY emergency number can save valuable time in urgent situations.
 900 Calls
TTY users need to dial 1-900-263-7283 to enable the CA to place a call to a 900 number.
