Q: How can I tell if my Internet connection is fast enough to place a Video Relay Call?

A: You can test the speed of your Internet access before making a Video Relay Call by visiting the following site: http://speedtest.dslreports.com.

Q: My Internet speed is too slow. What can I do to fix it?

A: There are many possible reasons why the Internet speed may be slow.  Here are the two most common reasons. The first one is that there may be a lot of traffic on the Internet. Sometimes this is out of your control. The second reason is because you do not have the correct speed plan from your ISP (Internet Service Provider). You should have at least 128 kbps (preferably 200 kbps) upload speed. The upload speed is more important than the download speed. Most ISP will advertise their high download speed capability. Q: What are the systems requirements for a PC and web camera combo?

A: If your computer is not older than 2 years, it is most likely you have met the minimum requirements for a PC and web camera combo to function well with VRS. Your computer should have at least a Pentium III or equivalent with 750 Mhz or higher. A 128 MB RAM is fine, but it is recommended to have at least 256 MB RAM. A USB is necessary to connect to a web camera.

Q: Can I use VRS on an Apple/Macintosh computer?

A: Not at the present time. Please email to customercare@myrelay.com to be notified when it will be possible to use an Apple/Macintosh computer with Nordia VRS.
